Breakfast Is Important For Your Health

By:

A lot of people skip breakfast nearly every day. Whether it's because they aren't hungry in the mornings, they don't have enough time for making and eating it, or they just don't care, they still miss a meal.

But skipping breakfast is a very unhealthy choice, especially if you are trying to lose weight. Having a healthy breakfast every day is an excellent choice for your health and energy, and it has a variety of benefits.

Did you know that your metabolism doesn't start for the day until you eat? The earlier you eat in the day, the earlier your metabolism starts working. This really increases weight loss!

Even if it is just a few Triscuits or an apple, eating first thing in the day is a great choice. If you skip breakfast, then your metabolism isn't starting until you eat lunch.

This means you are missing out on approximately four hours of digestion (250 calories an hour, 1,000 a day) which really adds up fast. After one week, you miss out on 28 hours (7000 calories), and after one month you miss 124 hours (31,000 calories).

That really adds up quickly. Breakfast is such a vital meal; you really shouldn't be skipping it.

A lot of people get really tired, even fatigued in the middle of the day though they get enough sleep. Some people rely on supplements and caffeinated beverages like Pepsi or coffee to get them through the day, but there is a more healthy choice.

Eating a well-rounded breakfast is the trick to making your energy levels stay consistent throughout the day, without the burn-out at 3 PM. One of the downsides of using a chemical energy booster (like 5 Hour Energy) is that after the initial energy boost, you crash.

The chemicals simply concentrate your energy to be used all at once, and then you are left so tired that you turn into a potato. Instead, increase your overall energy levels by eating a well-balanced breakfast, which is the key to having high energy levels throughout the day.

What does a well-balanced breakfast consist of? Well, any good meal should include food items from at least 4 of the food groups.

For breakfast time, a good example of this would be a fruity parfait, whole grain bread with jelly or jam, and an omelet made of eggs, bell peppers, onions, and cheese. This breakfast provides a good balance of flavor and hot vs. cold for the morning, along with items from 5 different food groups: fruit, dairy, protein, bread, and vegetables.

However, if you don't like these foods, there are other foods you can eat that are high in nutrition. Some good nutritious breakfast foods are: fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, Canadian bacon, or eggs. There are so many options available for having a well-balanced breakfast.

In conclusion, breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast has so many benefits for weight loss, including getting your metabolism going and boosting your energy level.

There are many simple ways you can choose healthy food for your breakfast, and they aren't all gross either. You can do what it takes to start being healthier and eating a well-balanced breakfast.
