Break Free From The Tyranny Of Television

By:

The average house hold in America has three televisions; that is enough TVs for three people to be watching three separate programs constantly. Out of all the television that is watched how much of it is beneficial or even useful in any way?

Studies have shown prolonged exposure to television to be directly linked to lethargy, fatigue and exhaustion. Those are just the physical affects.

Over indulgence can also decrease one's ability to focus or concentrate for long periods of time. This will result in feelings of stupor, torpor and blankness.

Television can be an addicting thing. It may be very hard to stop watching.

You have invested yourself for three seasons into one of your favorite shows, and what do you get when it's over: a simplistic dramatization usually depicting violence and promiscuity. The amount of television programs that are valuable to the viewer are greatly out-weighed by the number of provocative and scandalous television shows available.

These worthless shows are stealing your time. Give up one television show and use those thirty minutes a day to better something about yourself.

With thirty minutes you could go for a walk or better yet a run. You could also keep a mini trampoline in your home for a quick workout without leaving your house. See how quickly your life starts to change if instead of scheduling your days according to the programs on the television you scheduled your day around the activities you wished to pursue.

There are a number of things you could learn or achieve in thirty minutes a day. You could learn to play an instrument, practice another language, or even work to improve your car or home.

The amount you could achieve by giving up TV show is endless. TV doesn't just steel time it also infects our heads with poor content.

What good is it to watch a few men running around blowing each other's heads off or seeing lusty vampires parade around in scantly clothes? I submit that there is no value in this.

Our brains and thoughts work in patterns thoughts and images which attract similar thought and images. Our brains are like a network of information to get from one thought to another you must cross a path of similarly associated paths until you get to where you want to be.
