Brave New Real World

By:

I have noticed a trend these days. If someone has a problem they like a quick fix.

Plastic surgery for most cosmetic problems, energy drinks for tiredness, and prescription drugs for behavioral problems. Ok, doesn't this seem crazy to you?

I wasn't born pretty, or I am to hyper, or I feel a little tired. People are being manipulated by their environments to an extent that, 70 years ago, would have made our grandparents scream.

It is no wonder why the old seem senile, because we are practically half-way to becoming cyborgs. Nobody wants to work for things they desire, we would rather just have some doctors readjust our faces and give us some pills to cause us to "act normal".

Doesn't it seem like the world is going in the direction of some dark dystopian society from an Aldous Huxely or George Orwell book. It is time for action people, no more sitting on your hands in the weighting rooms.

It is positively ridiculous; if you are over active they have pills to make you docile. This is called attention deficit disorder and the prescription is amphetamines of some kind.

There is now a new one called sluggish cognitive tempo disorder. So if you are too lazy, you can now find a medication to change your personality.

Eventually we will have every single person acting exactly the same. That way we won't have any problems with weird or bizarre people.

If we are lucky government is going to deem cosmetic surgery covered with general health insurance. Than everyone that is a citizen of the city will be able to walk into the doctor's office, have a new face constructed across their skull, and then they're booted right down stairs for the behavioral adjustment medication.

If this doesn't scare you, well maybe I have fallen of the rocker. I feel as though people are not going to be at all valuable once they are altered to become what society deems as pretty or proper.

You have got to start standing up for yourself. We have to start thinking for ourselves.

No one is right unless you yourself say they are. There is nothing you cannot do.

You do not need to change the way you look, you do not have to change the way you act. These are two things that make you, you.

If you take these away, it isn't you doing those things you wanted to do. But societies pale imitation of you.

Is that what you want, to give your life away for someone else's idea of beauty or perfection? Do you even care?
