Brainwaves Effects On Health

By:

There are four different categories that describe different frequencies at which brainwaves resonate: beta, theta, alpha and delta. When we are concentrating or trying to focus on something, we are usually operating at a beta level.

Beta level frequencies are when we are awake and alert. Interestingly enough, brain wave frequencies can be affected by a number of different things.

You can learn to control your brain through meditation, which is an extremely useful skill, or you can find external effects on brainwave frequencies. Back in the classical age of baroque style music, people started to become aware that it was easier to concentrate when they were listening to music.

However, not all music works for this: some will work to excite thought, some will work to promote relaxation, and some music will entice acute attention. Baroque style music generally is composed at a tempo of 40 to 60 bpm (beats per minute).

This type of music will start getting the brainwaves to move in accordance with the sound waves. It is much like a ripple effect.

Imagine if you have a pebble and you drop it in water, what happens? It creates ripples and those ripples spread, this is your thought.

But if you throw a rock in right after the pebble, the rocks ripples will over whelm the pebbles ripples, thus changing the flow of water. Baroque style music works in congruence with beta wave frequencies.

Although slower more melodic types of music are often used to put people to sleep or promote deep relaxation. When we are at alpha level frequencies, we are relaxed but still easily excitable.

This is when it is easy to scare someone by sneaking up on them or making a loud noise. But when we are in theta level, we are in deep relaxation.

We are so relaxed and so calm it would take something quite extreme to make us jump. This is when our brainwaves are vibrating at frequencies of 4 to 8 hertz.

This is a state of mind not many people enter. It is usually only acquired by people who are practiced in meditation.

When we are in this state of mind, there are a number of healing benefits that start to come with it. We start to strain toxins from our relaxed muscles, epinephrine is dissolved and stress disappears.

Controlling your mind and being able to create its operating frequencies will greatly improve your level of cognitive acuity. Practiced meditators don't just relax better, but when necessary they can raise their awareness easier too.

Meditation is the practice of controlling one's own mind. Often people do not take time out of their busy life to quale the unyielding voices in their head.

But if you do try to relax your mind, so you are without a single thought, you will start to feel the purity that comes along with relaxation.
