Lexus is going all out to make sure customers are safe and satisfied during the recall that is affecting many of the brands vehicles. Four separate recalls were announced recently and Lexus has set up a system to take care of everyone involved.

Although this is a brief summary of the recall issues and does not list the models affected in every case, the Lexus website listed above contains all the details and these and a few previous recalls. Your Boston Lexus dealer will do everything possible to get your vehicle corrected quickly.

The most recent recall is for valve springs. Lexus says there have been no accidents involving this problem, but due to slight variations during the manufacturing process, some foreign material may have contaminated a small number of the valve springs. The likelihood of this occurring in your vehicle is .02%.

A June recall involves the claim that the National Highway Safety Transportation Authority found during one test with a rear-end collision at 50 mph that fuel spillage exceeded the allowable limit. Lexus said when they performed the same test there was no excessive fuel spillage. The automaker says it is trying to determine why there is a difference in the results. The company says they know of no accidents involving this issue.

In another recall, 2009 and 2010 LS models have experienced a brief off-center position of the steering wheel when it is turned to the extreme right or left position and re-centered, but corrects itself within a few seconds as the vehicle is driven. In the U.S. there have been no accidents or injuries reported with this issue.

Lexus stresses that they have been committed to going beyond their customers expectations for more than 20 years and they have expressed their apologies for the inconvenience and worry that the recalls will cause for their customers. Customers participating in the Rhode Island Lexus leasing program will be shown the same courtesies as Lexus owners.

Like their sister brand Toyota, who weathered the recall storm quite well a few months ago, Lexus promised to take care of every customer who has a need. Boston Lexus dealers urge customers to talk to them about any concerns.
