Boston Bmw Dealership Prepares For Launch Of Activee

In preparation for the coming launch of BMWs 100% electric vehicle this fall, a local Boston BMW dealership and Boston used BMW dealership is directing interested consumers to an app newly available on iTunes. The app, known as EVolve was recently launched and is a great resource for consumers considering purchasing a 100% electric vehicle.
The application considers a multitude of drivers current driving habits, regardless of their current vehicle, and then offers application users insights into the likelihood that an electric vehicle would work in the current lifestyle and with their current habits. In addition, the application offers ways to improve the compatibility of a users lifestyle and an electric vehicle.
Clearly, EVolves first and foremost purpose is to prove to consumers who value performance out of their vehicle that electric vehicles can still fit into a hard drivers lifestyle. However, the fringe benefits of this application are plush. For one, consumers could use the application even if they have no intention of purchasing an electric vehicle in order to get a gauge of their current driving habits and ideas for implementing green practices into their routine. Theoretically, consumers could also use the application to judge the ability of an alternative brand of electric vehicle to coincide with their lifestyle. Drivers using the application receive a compatibility rating after roughly three driving excursions.
Ultimately, a larger overall consumer interest in electric vehicles is a positive for both consumers and manufacturers. Rich Steinberg, Manager of Electric Vehicle Operations & Strategy, BMW of North America, noted the importance of this across the board acceptance by saying, With the EVolve app, BMW intends to help foster a wider acceptance of electric vehicles and understanding of the future of mobility, which is shifting rapidly and significantly. The discussion must break down barriers in the mind of the average driver as he or she is confronted with automobile purchase decisions ahead.
In fact, the invention of the EVolve app can be accredited to this spirit of collaboration. The application was developed thanks to feedback from consumers who are currently testing out the electric MINI vehicle, the MINI E. Testing of the MINI E began in 2009 and driver feedback from the last two years has shaped the now available EVolve application.
A waiting list will open up at your local Boston BMW dealership and Boston used BMW dealership for the BMW ActivE vehicle late this summer, which leaves plenty of time for consumers to download the new EVolve application and start thinking about replacing their gas guzzling vehicle for a greener, 100% electric vehicle. The BMW ActiveE will then be available later this year. The vehicle performs as one would expect a BMW to with 168 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The electric engine does not hold the ActiveE back in a zero to sixty mph race, which the vehicle completes in just nine seconds. The only feature of the vehicle that is strikingly different from the ActiveEs gas-powered BMW cousins is the fact that its top speed is capped at 90 miles per hour. Though this may be a deal breaker for .1% of the market, BMW is confident most consumers will realize they rarely if ever get up past 90 mph in their vehicles anyways.
BMW is also planning the launch of more electric vehicles, the BMW i3 and i8, to come early next year.
