Bordeaux city is a metropolitan city of southwest France which is close to the Atlantic coast and 500Km from southwest of Paris. It is situated on Garonne River and also known as port city. It is popular all over the world as it is world's major wine industry capital. It is also known for "An outstanding urban and architectural ensemble" and is listed in UNESCO world heritage list.
Main attractions:-
Cathedral of St. Andre: - it is 12 century old and situated on the south of old town. Mostly it is popular among tourists for its architecture. You will like it as you enter the Cathedral.
Croiseur Colbert: - Croiseur Colbert is a floating museum built in 1953. It is worth seeing in Bordeaux city as here you will see the 75 rooms with kitchen and captain room.
Festivals: - The Bordeaux city is also know for its festivals which include cultural events like musical concerts and artistic activities which are organised in the months of May and August.
Le Grand Theatre: - Le Grand Theatre was built in 1780 by Victor Louis who was the designer of Chartres Cathedral, the famous theatre in Paris. It is famous because the national orchestra of Bordeaux perform at this theatre. This makes it popular among music lovers.
Museum of Aquitaine: - Museum of Aquitaine was built in 1783 and is very famous among tourists as it tells you the history of the city. There are so many exhibitions are organised in this museum.
Museum of Decorative arts: - In this museum you will be fascinated by decorative things like jewellery, painting, furniture display, and other art collection of 16th and 18th century old.

By Air: - Bordeaux- Merignac airport is situated in the west of the city which connects Bordeaux with Paris, London, Madrid and Amsterdam.
By Eurostar: - There is a near by station called Gare Saint Jean which is 4 Km from the centre of the town. From this station you can catch train to any near by cities. There are several trains running per day. If you are travelling from Paris, it will only take 3 hours to reach here.
Eurostar is the fastest train ever which starts from London, St. Pancras Station to various destinations.

All the malls and shopping complexes are opened from Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 10:00pm but remained closed on Sunday. If you are street shopping lover then go to St. Catherine which is the most famous and busiest shopping street. Here you may have the vast varieties of ready made clothes and ornaments. St. Michel is another shopping area where you can shop well.
