When most westerners hear the term ancient civilization, many of them think first of the civilizations of the Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Greeks, and Romans. And while these civilizations are certainly important, there were plenty of other ancient civilizations, including several in the homes of many current westerners in North and South America. One noteworthy examples are in Mexico with the Mayas and the later rise of the Aztecs. However, equally interesting to study is the history of the Incas. Though their origins were in modern day Peru, their involvement in what is now Bolivia is equally important to understanding their past. And for those interested in getting the full story on the Incas and the other civilizations of the country before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores, theres no better way than with mobile broadband. Lets have a look at how to get started.

First, it helps to get an idea of the historical events that played out in Bolivia before the arrival of the Spanish. The first human occupants of the region we now call Bolivia were the Aymara peoples, who went on to found the more advanced Tiwanaku civilization. Tiwanaku expanded its power along the Pacific coast, taking over other smaller tribes. The extent of the Tiwanaku empire can be seen via maps on wireless internet. However, this empire collapsed after a drastic food shortage in AD 1000. In the 1400s, the area was taken over by the Incas, who unified the fragmented peoples left over from the Tiwanaku to create a unified empire. However, a weak governmental structure left them in bad shape, making the Spanish conquest by Francisco Pizarro all the easier. Nevertheless, it is the Inca culture which left the most indelible mark on Bolivian culture, which continues to this day.

Bolivia is dotted with sites of great importance to the precolonial civilizations. The first of these is the site of the ruins of Tiahuanaco, a settlement that dates to before the arrival of the Incas. Buildings, squares, and other traces of the ancient culture remain, and today the site has been declared a world heritage site by the UN. One other important site is the Isla del Sol or island of the sun. You can find the location of this site by using your 4g wireless internet connection for a search. The island is located on Lake Titicaca, and was believed by the Incas to be the location of the birth of the sun god, who then went on to rule the empire in the form of the official Incan emperor. The island was an important religious location for the Incas, and today many of their tributes to the sun god still remain. You can get a better feel for whats on the Isla del Sol by looking up photos on wireless internet, which will give you some idea of the scope of the Incan development there.
