Bmw Dealerships In Nj Marvel At The Lines Of The 1937 Bmw 328

New Jersey BMW 7 Series fans and lovers of all BMW models now have a chance to own a part of both BMW and World history. On Saturday, May 1st, the award winning and influential 1937 BMW 328 model will be auctioned off to the car enthusiast willing to offer the highest bid. This car comes with an incredible story and is a large reason why our sports cars today look and perform like they do. If you are a car lover then you cant afford to miss this opportunity.

The model offers a 1,971 cc inline six-cylinder engine with 130 horse power, which was the fastest of its time. In addition, the car has a four-speed manual transmission and a wheelbase of 2,400mm. The car was originally built for sports racing, which was very popular pre-WWII. The 328s debut actually took place at the Nrburgring in the Eifelrennen. The car took first place, forever placing itself on the list of the worlds best sports cars.

BMW dealerships in NJ and throughout the United States are amazed at the cars history that intertwines with the Second World War. After several racing wins that followed the 328s debut first place finish, the car was taken to BMWs factory racing division in Milbertshofen where it was rebuilt with an increase in its streamlined body shape, increasing its aerodynamics and therefore, its speed. This change was made in large part in order to prepare for the 1940 Mille Miglia racing season.

The car was redesigned and produced in a coupe version, as well as the lightweight roadster being auctioned off. Modifications included lowering the engine, driveline, and center of gravity to improve handling. The panels were formed over small, circular tubing. These duel tube frames were welded to the body of the car and the tire wells were made of the same lightweight aluminum-magnesium alloy. In addition, the inside panels and the seat frames were made of pure magnesium. This cutting edge technology of the day allowed the roadster to weigh in at a slim 725 kilograms. Even BMW dealerships in NJ today are impressed by this number!

The engine of the model was also updated to its current version during this time. Originally, the engine was only capable of performing with 80 hp and claimed a small oil pan. The reconstruction gave the car an additional side-mounted oil cooler and a 100-liter fuel tank, with a magnesium valve cover. This newly designed model was then tested on the autobahns near the BMW Munich plant that housed the amazing race car. For a moment before the outbreak of WWII, Germany and its 3328, along with France, Great Britain, and Italy gathered at the 1940 Mille Miglia in hopes of making racing history. Unfortunately, the war broke out shortly afterwards, putting an end to the making of any peaceful racing history for some time.

The car clearly survived 5 years of war and was taken by the Russian as reparations after Germany lost the war. The present owner bought the car from a man named Mr. Adamson in 2001. Since then the car has been kept in top condition by experts at Tom Fischer Classic & Race Car Service. Everything has been rebuilt and the car runs almost as well as a New Jersey BMW 7 Series does.
All in all, this one of a kind BMW model has participated at the famed Le Mans racing event, made two appearances at the Mill Miglia, was awarded a class victory in 1938, and was a member of the 1940 championship race team. In addition, the design of the 328 has influenced sports cars up to the present day. Thus, now is the time to take advantage of the first, and potentially the last time, this vehicle will be available for public purchase. Dont lose out on a chance to own a piece of history.
