SUVs are absolutely one of the most promising vehicles as of the present. This vehicle type has shown a lot of remarkable characteristics. As a matter of fact, SUVs are considered to be one of the safest vehicles on the road. In addition to this, a lot of SUV models offer larger interior space compared that is ideal for car finders who usually transport more passengers and larger cargoes. Due to this, more and more new car finders are buying SUVs and most of these are willing to obtain the appropriate auto financing deals offered for this vehicle type.

To address the growing demand for SUVs, BMW has recently added two more engine options for its X1 line-up. This is probably one of the companys strategies of strengthening its smallest SUVs range. With the extension of the engine options for the X1, BMW hopes to gain more revenues from this model that is also important in increasing the companys market shares in areas where they operate.

BMW will be offering the X1 powered by a 2.0liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that uses gasoline this autumn. With this engine, the new X1 would be producing 184 horsepower. This will also be offered with a rear-wheel and four-wheel drive versions. This engine will also be using direct injections and the Valvetronic variable valve control system. Given these features, BMW expects that this set-up would create a new standard in efficiency for its class with an average consumption of 7.1 liters/ 100 km for the sDrive20i version and 7.7 liters/100 km for the xDrive20i. The emissions of these versions are estimated to be around 165 and 179 grams per kilometre of CO2.

The second engine that would be used for the X1 is a 2.0liter 4-cylinder diesel engine. This engine would power the BMW X1 sDrive20d and is offered as a rear-wheel drive vehicle. To incorporate common rail injection and variable turbine geometry, this will be offered with the companys TwinPower Turbo technology. With these features, the sDrive20d is expected to deliver a 163 horsepower output and 243.4 lb-ft of torque between 1,750 and 2500 rpm. Its estimated fuel consumption is about 4.5 liters/100 km and the CO2 emission will be 119 grams/kilometer.
