BMW is considered as an executive car because of its elegant but classic style and of course because of its expensive cost. Not everyone can afford to buy their model units for the maintenance can also be that expensive unlike any other car brands. BMW has their unique auto classification using letter codes which has its own definition that BMW fanatics only knew. BMW F01-F02-F03-F04 belongs to a full size type of luxury cars. The "F" represents the luxury code market segment used by BMW in classification of their model units. F01 version has its sub-models such as BMW 730d, 740d, 740i, 750i, and 760i. As for the design, BMW F01 has been made more evolutionary with BMW CS concept inspired front end which has two grilles to the headlamps and eyebrows plus internal configuration similar to individual lamps but is slightly different in shapes. BMW F03 also known as the High Security vehicle has its sub-model 750LiS. It is the first model when F03 has been released and this meets the requirements of the ballistic protection level VR7 that is why it is called the High Security vehicle. BMW F03"s concept of security has been developed parallel to the production model and the integration of safety components as an integral part of the vehicle production plan.
As for BMW F04, it is known as the Active Hybrid. It is a concept model that uses engine 750i. Powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine and a single electric motor, BMW F04 has a generative braking unit that includes 12V Absorbent Glass Mat batteries that runs in parallel to 120V electrical network for electric motor.
