Bluetooth Modules Providing Bluetooth Wireless Communication

Bluetooth wireless technology fills this important communication need, with its ability to communicate both voice and data wirelessly, using a standard low-power, low-cost technology which can be integrated in all devices to enable total mobility.

The Bluetooth module is a small and extremely lightweight device that is part of the electronic guts of many devices that we use in day to day life. Bluetooth protocols allow an astonishing array of digital devices from personal computers to cell phones and even game consoles to communicate with one another securely over short distances, under 100 meters.

Bluetooth modules should be able to receive transmissions from the PC from a distance of at least 70 ft indoors. We wish to be able to transmit this far even with walls and other obstructions included. The cycle time for sending a command and receiving some sort of feedback should be kept below 2 minutes. The largest variable that will affect this will be the response time of the POP3 mail account.

The Bluetooth module delivers up to six hours of talk time, five hours of music and has a standby time of 140 hours.

Some Bluetooth modules are sold very cheaply, however you do get what you pay for, and what seems like a bargain Bluetooth module will have some limitations, so this is worth bearing in mind when selecting Bluetooth modules.

WT41 Bluetooth module can achieve 1000 meters distance in optimal conditions and several hundreds of meters in an urban or office environment. In addition to a RF power amplifier, WT41 also implements a low noise amplifier significantly improving the module sensitivity down to -90 dBm. The sensitivity improvement extends the WT41's range to Bluetooth class 2 devices such as mobile phones or PDAs. WT41 module is available with integrated chip antenna or U.FL antenna connector.

Bluetooth modules are easy to install and inexpensive in terms of the tremendous value and functionality they offer.
