Strengthen. You should also understand that lifting weights is a result of multiple muscles working together. Because of this, you should also put some attention in strengthening your triceps as well as the anterior deltoid muscles in your shoulders. Furthermore, another area to focus on how to increase your bench press further is strengthening your back and legs. This will enable you to fully support the weight that you are bench pressing.

You should also try to do 5-6 reps when doing bench presses. If you are able to do more than that, you should consider increasing the weight.
