Blackberry Torch To Retail At Telus

Blackberry Torch To Retail At Telus

By:

Soon after Rogers announced its interest in retailing the new BlackBerry Torch 9800, Bell and Telus showed interest in the same endeavor by announcing that they would be releasing the BlackBerry Torch rogers on the 24th of September, much to the delight of the Canadian tech community. Bell will also be retailing the phone from the exact same date, as the BlackBerry best Tablet PC. The BlackBerry Dakota is actually something of a shock to most BlackBerry users, as the Torch 9800 will be the first BlackBerry phone ever created to sport both a full BlackBerry QWERTY keypad as well as a responsive touch screen.

Telus will be retailing the phone at $599 without a contract; and $199 on a 3 year contract. The phone, as pricy as it may seem, is actually a bargain for the features it packs. First off, it sports the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, which has been engineered by the team at RIM to beat the platforms existing on other phones like the HTC which runs on Android and the iPhone which runs on the iOS platform. Apps on this phone are expected to run even better than on those other phones.

The 9800 is supposed to take business communication to a whole new level. The OS 6 widens the messaging scope and the RSS feeds, which provide integrated access to the all popular BlackBerry messenger services. Upgraded from its predecessors, the phone features 4GB of internal memory with the option of expanding it using a micro SD card, up to a maximum storage capacity of 32GB. The WebKit browser that comes with the phone allows for much easier and much faster web browsing, using a browser that supports tabbed web access whereby the user can open separate tabs on the phone similar to the capability of a computer. Geo tagging comes alive on this phone due to the built-in GPS system that also supports applications that focus on location and mapping. A 512 MB RAM that comes with the phone will make sure that the 9800 wont hang any time soon, due to lack of processing memory. To speed up the phone, RIM installed a 624MHz processor that put the phone at the top of the league in terms of processing power and speed which, coupled with the generous RAM, will make the Torch 9800 the fastest BlackBerry phone only a few weeks into its release.
