Birthday Party Tips ' How To Turn Everything Around

By:

I know you moms and dads like to get this day over with so you can go back to your regular routine but there's really nothing wrong with going outside the box every once in a while. Instead of planning the part yourself let your kid speak his mind, ask him what his favorite thing is, be it a movie, a TV show or anything else that comes to mind and plan your party based on the ideas your child gives you, of course always take into account the money issue.

Once the decisions have been made on both sides you'll notice that everything you planned quickly begins to fall right into place, once you've mapped out all you need the rest should start to be rather easy, depending on what you're doing.

When preparing for the party, create a wildly imaginative party invitation for all the little guests to receive in their mails. Make it extremely creative and obviously based around the theme you've got set up at the part itself. Be it some castle-theme or a sci-fi space adventure, get a sense of how these themes would work and write in your invitations what makes sense within the context of that given world. Don't simply put: "Jeff is having a birthday! Come out and celebrate with us!" and have this random space background with aliens all over the place with no explanation. Put it in a very creative language that captures the style of the card and theme, say something like: "We are from the planet Jeff, we come in piece." Not the best example but I think you get the idea.

Interactive invitations are really cool too and would definitely make the one receiving the invitation get a sense of adventure before the party even starts. It'll also make them want to get to your location first before any other guests arrive, that's how excited they'll be.

While you're decorating your location keep in mind the theme, you may put up the typical balloons and streamers relevant to all birthday parties but be sure to put something around your location that works well with the theme, be it card board cut-outs, cut-outs from magazines, stuff printed online, etc. things that will stick out to your guests. If you have a certain theme you want to create, get your son or daughter to dress up a specific way signifying his or her role as the "Birthday boy" or girl. If he's having a castle-themed party, dress him up as the king. If he's having a sci-fi party, have him be the alien overlord, whatever floats your boat and works the best. It's all about creativity and imagination and this is your chance to show it off.

The same things can be said for the type of food you have, the music, the games, everything you'd normally do at a birthday party but done in a way that's modified to fit the theme you have going for it. Be sure to have the guests participate as well, be it costumes or the kinds of food you want them to bring, but don't make it mandatory, so some people are just party poopers.

One more thing: even if you have a slightly less than stellar budget you can still get away with throwing a perfect themed party, just come up with any ideas you have while discussing it with your kid and I'm sure, no, I guarantee you'll do something that blows everyone away. Creation is key and creative minds know only the best.
