Birthday Parties: How To Have The Best

By:

All birthday parties are fun, but like all parties some are more fun than others. Sometimes there isn't a thing that could have been planned any different to make the party go any better. It's often a matter of the group of people, and how well they mix. Some of the most memorable birthdays I've attended over the years had nothing special planned at all. They were just made up of people whose company I enjoyed immensely, so the birthday party could not have gone any better.

However, there are five basic ingredients that can help you have one of the best birthday parties possible, and all five must always take into consideration the guest of honor. Know the guest of honor's wishes, taste, likes and dislikes, and who they want present.

1) Venue- The size of the party will dictate this to some degree. You want the guests to be comfortable, i.e. you don't want to end up with thirty people crammed into a space that is more suitable for about twenty. Nor do you want to have a party of thirty people in a room more suitable for a hundred. If it's in a home, which most are, I would not invite more than what can comfortably move about and mix without rubbing shoulders with everyone.

2) Music- This is often overlooked, and it's one of the things that can do the most for a party. You want to confer with the guest of honor in music choices, but I would have music planned for at least two hours. Live music, if possible, such as a piano player or guitarists, but at least some picked out to play continually on a quality stereo system.

3) Theme- Having a theme of some kind always helps living it up some, and it lets people know how to dress. For example, if you're going to have a pool party theme the guests would know to bring their swimsuits, or a classic rock and roll theme would probably mean casual wear, whereas a backyard BBQ theme would mean shorts and t-shirts. Theme's can also make a difference in what food you may want to serve, if any.

4) Food- Everyone loves to eat. Having birthday parties catered is always preferable. It means less work on the hosts, as far as preparation, serving, and cleanup. And matching the food with the theme can be fun. Most any theme you pick could have a certain type food associated with it, BBQ, Mexican, Hawaiian Luau, etc. and if you decide to prepare the food yourself, get some help. Friends and family always welcome an opportunity to help out with something like this. This may also affect what size party, but I would definitely plan food. Not every birthday party has it, and it really sets it apart.

5) Invitations- You've got to send out invitations. They do so much to set the tone for the party, and get your guests excited about coming, when they're done right. All you need is a picture of the guest of honor loaded onto your computer, then go online to a web site that has the following; unique and stylish photo card designs, options you like, a simple ordering interface, and the latest technology. Just follow the steps and you'll end up with superb custom designed birthday party invitations, quickly, easily, and inexpensively.

There are so many other things that you could consider, and if the guest of honor requests it, then by all means consider it. But if you'll do a good job of planning the right venue, music, theme, food, and invitations, you'll likely never attend better birthday parties anywhere.
