Binaural Beats For Lucid Dreaming

By:

Binaural beats provide direct access to your consciousness. They are created in the brain when two sound waves of slightly different frequencies are transmitted, one to each ear. The brain detects the phase difference of the input signals, and as a result an amplitude-modulated standing wave (the binaural beat) is heard. It is perceived at a frequency equal to the difference in frequencies of the applied waves.

The subjective effect of binaural beats depends on its frequency. For example, beats in the delta (1-4 Hz) and theta (4-7 Hz) ranges are associated with relaxed, dream, and meditative states and can be used to induce sleep. The binaural beats in the 8-24 Hz region commonly induce increased concentration, alertness, or improved memory.

You can be in-charge of your dreams

The brain controls all states of our mind whether we are dreaming and sleeping or alert and awake. In order to take control of your dreams you have to become lucid. It means consciously knowing that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. This awareness is the tool that can be used to change your response consciously. The sharper the awareness is the easier your task is going to be.

Before we see how binaural beats can assist you with dream awareness, consider these fact: The theta brainwaves (4-7 Hz) dominate the brain when we are capable of dreaming and the delta waves (below 4 Hz) prevail when we are fast asleep. When we are active and waking our brain will be dominated by alpha waves (7-13 Hz).

Lucid Dreaming

When you fall asleep you go into the delta stage where brainwaves are of very low frequency. After a couple of hours you find yourself in REM phase of sleep where most dreaming occurs and you go into the theta stage. So, what can you do to make your dreaming lucid?

The answer lies in going briefly to the alpha state where you have conscious awareness and then falling back to the dream stage of theta waves. If you stay too long in the alpha stage, you will come out of dreaming and become fully awake. After a quick trip to alpha you are now in a state where you are dreaming but are also partially awake! Binaural beats will help you go through this round trip effortlessly.

This is what lucid dreaming is all about. You are dreaming but with the awareness that it is just a dream. This awareness is empowering "" it puts you in control of the whole activity. You can use this knowledge to stand up to the monsters and life endangering situations of the dream because you know (and are convinced) that they can not actually harm you. You can use this realization to write the scripts of all your dreams rather than remaining a powerless victim.

Binaural beats for lucid dreaming

People try things like meditation, dream writing, waking up after a couple of hour and trying sleep again with affirmation of remembering dreams, etc but they are all indirect ways and take much longer time. Listening to the music embedded with binaural beats that are specifically designed for lucid dreaming is a direct and simple way to get lucid.
