Biking Trails Hills And Bmx

By:

Biking is a huge industry and for good reason too. Millions of people bike every day, some for sport and some for exercise.

There are mountain bikes, there are racing bikes and there are even BMX/ street bikes. There is a bike for every single person in the world.

For those adrenaline junkies that need some thrill with their activities, there is BMX. There are hardly any fatalities with this sport, all though I can't say there aren't any.

That is why they call it an extreme sport. Because there can be extreme consequences for screwing up your double bar spin tail whip over the table top.

Most people are never going to try that, which is probably good. I don't recommend that any one try doing that, but if someone is going to try I will watch.

BMX biking has been growing in popularity for the last 40 years. Back in the early 70s this sport was developed from racing on dirt trails.

They started to add jumps and dips to the tracks to make the sport more exciting for the viewers. Eventually they started to just have trick competitions, where the riders freely roam an open track and perform the best tricks they know.

There are even parks now that are made specifically for bikes. Here they have either cement, dirt or Masonite ramps and pipes that are made for riding on.

Then for those of us who are a little more conservative, there is regular trail riding. Although you should be aware, there are some trails that can get pretty difficult, so it is not completely boring.

If you are one of those outdoorsy people that enjoys the scenic views and open air, then trail riding is definitely going to be your cup of tea. The bikes they have for this are much different than racing bikes or BMX bikes.

Usually these trail bikes are set up with heavy shocks, different speed settings, and are quite a bit bigger than other bikes. This is to maintain balance and make riding for long period of time more comfortable.

These trail or mountain bikes are made for rough terrain. If you get the tires that do not deflate you can tough it through almost anything.

Racing bikes are the best for speed. These are light weight and have skinny wheels, for better aerodynamics.

These are for those health nuts that like to bike long distances on the freeways and crazy long distance bike races. This is the type of bike that our favorite bike, Lance Armstrong, is going to be using.

Find the type of bike you enjoy the most and get outside. It is good to have some hobbies that don't include a monitor or television screen.
