Students of the Bible have been studying it for centuries concerning the prophecies of the signs of the times. They have wondered about the indicators of the end of the world. They have been able to obtain many followers who were deceived by their statements. Jesus Christ indicated that no man knows when the end of the world will be. However, he did give us many of the signs that we can observe to prepare for the end.

The Christians who watched for the signs were able to avoid the traumas of the destruction of Jerusalem. Now we are in the same situation and should watch the signs and learn as they learned about what to do and when we should do it.

The vast amounts of changes in the world is another sign that should be considered. How many great scientific advances have occurred over the past one hundred years? Also the creation of Israel in 1948 and the continued unrest in that part of the world is of concern. Another concern is the weakening leadership of church leaders. People are choosing to live for today and not bother about living religious lives.

The Lord will not put up with the wickedness of the world. He has said that when the world is ripe with iniquity, then he will destroy it. This can be observed with all great civilizations. He destroyed all mankind by a flood when there was no righteous person except for Noah and his family. He also destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah after they became too wicked. The end is coming and we should continue to watch the signs of the times.

We can prepare for the end by how we live our lives. We should be living righteous lives and doing all we can to be able to greet the Lord when he comes. If we are prepared with how we live, then we really do not have anything to fear. We need to have the faith that there is more than just this life. This life is just a small part of our eternal existence. Even if we were to die as a result of world calamities, if we have lived a good life, it will mean nothing. We can then look forward to an eternity of reward for our lives.
