Having your business listed in online business directories is important for local businesses. Not only it helps potential customers to find your business, it also informs Google that the business is NZ based resulting into better rankings in Google New Zealand. 2. Finda -- Easily the Top NZ online business directory. With a Page Rank of 7 at top domain and PR of 4 at business category level, it is easily the most authoritative NZ directory from SEO perspective. Beautiful & easy to use interface Very High Rankings in Google. Gotta be there.

3. New Zealand Search (NZS) -- Highly authoratative online directory. Second only to finda. With a Page Rank of 6 at top domain and PR of 3 at business category level, it is 2nd most authoritative directory. Possibly the best user interface. Quick & easy to create new business listings. Includes regular blog posts, scrolled headline news, regional weather, etc. Great rankings in search engines for local businesses.

4. Hot Frog -- With a top level domain having a PR=6, Hotfrog is a fairly authoritative. But a PR=0 at category level pushes it down in the list relative to finda and nzs. However, it does not stops Hotfrog businesses to get decent visibility in Google search results for various categories. Awesome interface. Very Clean & Great UI. Also provides integrated Google Maps of the business location.

5. Index NZ -- Terrible user interface. It seems like a website from 90s which has not been updated since the last decade. The reason i am forced to recommend this directory is due to the SEO perceptive. However, it has surprisingly high visibility on Google Searches. Page Rank of 5 at home page and PR=2 at category level. Personally, i would not visit this site while looking for businesses but considering SEO i would definitely list my business there because of the directories high authority & PR status.

6. NZ Pages -- Home Page PR = 6 and Some Category level domain at PR=4, which is quite rare. Some Category level domain PR = 4 (Rare). Great site structure & high visibility of different categories on the home page. Beacuse of this, easy for visitors to find what they are looking for. Clean user interface. Easy to navigate.

7. NZ Directory -- Top Level Domain PR =5. Very nice, clean & beautiful user interface. Great site structure. Lots of options provided to the visitor to take action. First Directory to use social media & other sharing methodologies. I respect NZ directory decision to not all Google Sponsored links. Seems like they do not believe in the advertising business model. Interesting. Great for the user and for the businesses. Extremely easy to navigate. However, a quick recommendation would be to convert invdividual business website links from text to hyperlink.

8. Made from New Zealand -- This is definitely one of the most promising upcoming directories. Has a Home level PR=6. Lots of modern web 2.0 features. It consists of business profile videos from various business owners & leaders, database of great blogs & a variety of sharing options including Facebook, YouTube & Twitter. This directoy is definitely trying to take boring directory concept into the age of web 2.0.

9. Yalwa -- It is a Globa Online business directory. however, It has dedicated subdomains to New Zealand cities. The coolest thing about this directory is that it allows you to add an anchor link with your keyword. Very critical for SEO purposes. High home page PR=5 & 1000s of backlinks, it is extremely authoritative.

10. Dmoz New Zealand

Dmoz is the worlds largest online directory with global presence. Very high authority. Free as well as paid listings available. Free listing can take months so you might as well do it right away. The only reason i will list my business here will be solely for SEO purposes. However, it definitely brings a high quality back link improving your search engine rankings.
