You talk of romantic movies and 'roman holidays' is the essential name. You can not afford to lose out on this. This movie is undoubtedly one of the most glamorous flicks ever made. The engaging locations of Rome are certainly going to excite the romantic side of yours. The plot of the tale is about 2 characters- a beggar and a princess and their journey of love. The characters are well played by actors Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. The movie however, has a very unhappy ending which touches the hearts of the viewers and therefore hits a chord somewhere.

From Rome, move on to Russia. Anastasia is based on a Russian people story. Make sure that you do not confuse it with the 1997 twentieth Century Fox animated flick of the same name. This one stars Yule Breyner though both are based on the same base idea of locating Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. The movie is famous for some of the finest performances ever by both the leads and is still considered among the best ever to come out of Hollywood.

The third on the list is Spook. This isn't your normal love story of boy meets girl. For starters, the male lead is dead and female lead is the surviving widow. Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze are the two main actors of the movie which describes the love of a wife for a husband who is no more. The film even got an Academy Award and if you would like to see something surreal but nice, this is the one.

Another in line ever romantic films is 'Titanic'. No matter how many times you watch the movie, it just does not fail to impress you. A straightforward story shot in complicated sets makes Titanic a heart warming tale of love. The ideal cherry on the icing is the song sung by Celine Dion, which still remains in the heart of countless lovers.

World War 2 has been a great subject for filmmakers but not many have used it as a background of a romance. Consider Pearl Bay as one outstanding exception. The film brings out how love can fundamentally survive and flourish, even in the greatest of tragedy. The star cast includes Kate Bekinsale and Ben Afflek.

Apart from these, you may consider A Walk to Remember, Notting Hill and The Lake House. Any of these romantic movies can be enjoyed curled up in the settee with popcorn in lap and the one by your side.
