Best Kitchen Knives - Choose Quality Kitchen Knives

The best way is to find the balance when buying knives. For example, if you choose to buy a set and after some research you can't make up your mind, just narrow your list to three items. Same type of knives, same number of blades. The prices should be cheap (not very cheap, but cheap), reasonable and a little higher. If the price difference between the cheap and reasonable one is small and the quality difference is notable, choose the reasonable one. If the price difference between the expensive set and the reasonable one is lover than the difference between the cheap and reasonable one, but the expensive one. If you search two or three hours for the right knife set you won't be disappointed. Also, if you choose to buy each knife individual, four knives will do. A Chef's knife, a carving knife, a bread knife and a boning knife. You should buy them in the same order as presented. Note that the Chef's knife should be in your hand, when cooking, from %70 to 90% of the time so make sure you buy a quality one. Learn to take care of your knives and you will have them for a very long time!

Some say that quality kitchen knives are as important as the chef. We don't know that but we do know that, in the kitchen, professional kitchen knives can make your job much easier. You have to know how to choose your kitchen knife because this will save you a lot of time and also money. On a long run, it's better to buy three or four quality knives (which will last you a lifetime with the proper care) than three of four inexpensive knives per month. Everybody knows that dull knives can't really help, that's why professional kitchen knives are made from top-quality materials (high carbon, stainless steel) and will ensure razor sharpness for a very long time. It's a proven fact that you can cut yourself much faster with a dull knife than with a sharp one.

Doesn't matter if you spend most of your time in the kitchen or you just cook because you have to, you need to have a quality knife set. People often say that an entire set is too much, you just need one good Chef's knife. That's not true. A good Chef's knife can cover almost everything you need in the kitchen but what about peeling, cutting bread or boning? You can find professional knife sets from $50 up to $500 and the best way is to stay somewhere below $300.

Another good thing about a quality knife set is that besides the knives, you will also receive a sharpening steel from the same brand. Knives manufactures often suggest that you should use a sharpening tool from the same brand as the knives. This way you will sharpen them as you should and the cutting edge will stay sharp for longer.

People say that kitchen knives sets are cheaper than buying each knife at a time (chef's, santoku, boning, peeling, etc.). This can work both ways. It depends on the knives' quality. You can buy a kitchen knife set for $60, let's say 12 piece set, and also you can pay over $130-$140 for just one Professional Chef's knife.
