Aside from the worlds most intense curmudgeons, pretty much everyone loves to laugh. The only point of difference is what different people find funny. With more than 300 million Americans, this makes for a lot of different tastes. Add to that all of the diverse senses of humor that we have access to from other English-speaking countries like the United Kingdom and Australia, and there is a lot to choose from when looking for a laugh! And with a good satellite TV package, you can have access to it all. You do not need to be some cultural elitist who spends your time collecting obscure copies of foreign cinema you can enjoy your international comedies in high definition from the comfort of your own living room with doing little more than surfing the channels in your massive satellite TV package. So when you are looking for something good to watch, come back and look at this guide of the best foreign, English-language comedies to watch. You will be laughing your pants off in no time.

1. Peep Show

This hysterically dry British comedy is far from the quasi-pornographic fare that its title might suggest. It is actually a situational comedy about a couple of regular dudes or blokes, as the English call them with mediocre office jobs and a tough time attracting the ladies. The self-deprecation and high level of irony might strike some viewers as quite British, but its painfully truthful representations of social awkwardness translate across all borders. Take one scene in which Mark, a doughy, self-loathing office jock gets dragged to a party to meet girls by his friend Jeremy, a goofy man-boy who is marginally better looking. Naturally Mark is the one who ends up meeting a girl, and when he finds himself smoking pot with her in the bathroom, he thinks to himself Ah, how exciting! This is the kind of thing that people do when theyre having fun!

2. Flight of the Conchords
This comedy duo based in New Zealand has developed a cult following over the years, playing their wacky brand of guitar-based jokes, first appearing in a television show on the BBC (British Broadcasting Company), and then eventually making it onto U.S. airwaves via HBO (Home Box Office). The jokesters bill themselves as having been formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo, which should say it all. Check it out in high definition!

3. Corner Gas

If you get satellite TV to watch foreign comedies for one show, check out Canadas corner gas. The show follows a cast of characters who either work at or frequently visit a gas station in the Canadian prairies that is the only automobile service center for 60 kilometers (a little less than 40 miles). While some of the jokes are peculiar to our neighbors to the north, you will quickly find that small town Saskatchewan (where the show takes place) has a lot in common with small towns across the United States, especially in the Midwest. The series ended in 2009 after a successful 6-season run as one of the most popular television series in Canada.
