In EVE Online, always try to get into a good corporation and don't be afraid to ask them for help. This is the easiest thing to do in EVE Online and picking the right corporation that is best for you is usually the hardest part. Many corporations are hiring, so the best way to go about it is to ask around. I tend to prefer corporations that are in Alliance. Reason being you get to learn more this way. Using the Corp/Alliance button on the rift side of your screen, along the menu, you can view all the available Alliances and their sizes.
As soon as you find an Alliance to join, simply mail them, over and over again that is, until they accept you. Alternatively, you could email several choices at once and see which accepts you first. I recommend going for the larger corporations given that they are more well established and tend to have lots of expert players to help you get going.
Another tip is to train all your skills to the maximum and then all the advanced skills to their maximum. Learning skills perfectly to the higher level will save your time significantly and make you able to make more
EVE ISK.
I would also advice you to buy insurance for your ships, especially your main ones. Reason is, if you want to obtain the rare materials, you would need to enter the low security areas and there's definitely the risk of getting your ship damaged. Insurance is also a good choice if you're planning on doing a lot of PvPs. Buying insurance does however require ISK, like every other aspect of the game that is. The easier option is to buy EVE ISK from other players to play it safe. There's also the option to
buy ISK from gold sellers as well. Before deciding to purchase the in-game currency, you could learn more about it from websites related to the game.
