Best Cities To Find A Job In Business

By:

Juju has put together a long list of the U.S. cities that are the best for finding jobs in business and accounting. The researchers did this by comparing the total number of the job series's in every one of the 50 largest cities in America. They used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and compared it with the number of how many job openings there are in each given city from the comprehensive computer database.

The top city to look for jobs in business and accounting is Washington, DC. The unemployment rate for the city is a mere 6.4 percent. The abundance of different jobs that are available for people in the public sector insulate the weak economy of private sector jobs.

Washington, DC is a great place to apply for a job. The average number of applicants for a job in the District of Columbia is 1.18. That gives each person great odds of getting the position they desire. The private defense companies and local government in Washington, DC are less likely than other companies to lay off employees.

The capital of the United States of America is also the host to many solid growth industries, such as education and healthcare. These industries are still hiring people to fill these great well-paying, fulfilling career positions. Government hubs are turning out to be great bets for people who are on their job hunts. Half of the list's cities are actually state capitals. These include Oklahoma City, Boston, Salt Lake City, and even Austin.

People who are living in the cities that ranked near the end of the list have some good news in store for them. Juju has been analyzing this data since October of 2010 and has reported that the entire job climate of the country appears to be improving. For one thing, 21 people were applying for every job in Detroit in December, but now, only nine people are applying for each of these positions in the Motor City. The national average is half what it used to be at 3.3 people applying for every single job opening throughout America.

The study conducted by Juju proves that government jobs experience more security in times of economic uncertainty. Anyone who has any interest in national government should use this time as an opportunity to take the plunge into an exciting career in the happening town of Washington, DC. Government careers offer steady employment. There is a great chance that our society will always need qualified people to manage them. Additionally, there are a number of great business prospects in DC as well.
