The BlackBerry Torch 9800 has drawn interest from major dealers including Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile and Rogers and consequently, the launch of the BlackBerry Torch Telus took place on September 16 2011. The BlackBerry Torch Bell launch was delayed to October 1 2011. In order to increase sales, most dealers have opted for attractive deals like the Bell BlackBerry Torch 3 year agreement. However, this deal is limited to the sale of two handsets for every customer who purchases from the store; and it does not cater for online transactions.

The deal seeks to offer a phone with advanced features and performance capability. The BlackBerry Torch innovation offers a touch and slide interface with its hard key and virtual QWERTY keyboard that offers superior typing results. The BlackBerry Torch runs on the BlackBerry OS 6.0 supported by a 624 MHz processor chip. In addition, the device has a RAM of 512 MB that is responsible for the performance of the operating system. However, this is less than that of the BlackBerry Touch, which accounts for 768 MB of RAM. The BlackBerry Torch weighs 161 grams. In addition, it has dimensions of 111*62*14.6mm. The BlackBerry Torch is similar in many ways to its predecessors; however, it features a 3.2-inch touch 480*360 screen.

The BlackBerry Torch has a 5 mega pixel camera which provides pictures with 2592*1944-pixel resolution. In order to improve the cameras performance, it is fitted with a LED flash, an auto focus and perfect image stabilization capabilities. The device also has an internal memory of 4 GB, which can be expanded to 32 GB by adding a micro SD memory card slot.

The BlackBerry Torch offers a 1300mAh removable rechargeable battery, a standby of 336 hours and talk time of 5.6 hours. Some of its data features include an integrated Wi-Fi, instant messaging, multimedia messaging, short message service, mobile Email, push Email support, Web and WAP browser. With Wi-Fi connectivity, EDGE and GPRS, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 can accommodate the latest versions of internet connections.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 offers many entertainment features, which include inbuilt games and media players. This device, bought through the internet or other sources, can download a variety of games that you may wish to have. Moreover, it has both assisted and unassisted GPS navigation providing maps and routes to keep you on the right track.

Some of the accessories included in the box are the manual, wall adapter, case, software, data cable, headset and a 4 GB MicroSD card.
