Beginners Piano Lessons Are Supposed To Be Fun

By:

Learning the piano from an Internet membership site or a downloadable course, is a great way for beginners to learn how to play piano. But although you may be all keyed up at first (excuse the pun) you may find that your enthusiasm begins to wane a bit, especially if you find that you've hit a stumbling block. But this is what most people taking beginners piano lessons find at some time or other, so it's nothing to worry about.

Playing the piano is a complex and challenging journey. Theres a lot to learn and not only to you have to master the mental side of piano playing, understanding the note and recognizing them intuitively, but theres the physical aspect to be learned too. You need to develop dexterity in your fingers that you probably didnt have before.

It's also quite likely that you'll find some things are easier to master than others and you might well come to a point where you feel a bit demotivated if there's something particularly difficult..

The simple solution is to change your focus slightly and switch to a different subject. You may well find that as you work on something else, your ability to tackle the task that was worrying you will improve also. You will ned to practise a lot, it's through piano practise that the dexterity and understanding come. On the other hand, it is also quite possible that a short break from playing might be beneficial - remember that learning piano is meant to be a fun and fulfilling exercise, not something that becomes a chore - if it ever does, then take a break. It's nothing to worry about and you will discover that when you start again you'll be more motivated to have another go at the thing that's been troubling you.

But you have to keep up the piano practise, theres no getting away from it. Divide your practice sessions up into several short ones rather than one long one. About a quarter of an hour a couple or perhaps three times per day is what you should be aiming for. If you can maintain a regime like this for a couple of months you'll probably surprise yourself with the improvement in your playing.
