Ive got a secret to tell you:-

I discovered how to avoid getting constant sore fingers and Im going to share it with you.

The truth is, no matter what level of experience they are at, any guitarist can get sore finger tips. Its not just something that beginners encounter, advanced players can suffer too.

Are your fingers really sore right now?

The problem you have is that if you are a beginner you are most likely learning to play acoustic guitar and this can cause more soreness than an electric guitar. This is because the strings are usually of a heavier gauge which makes them much harder to press down onto the frets.

The secret of avoiding getting sore finger ends, is learning how to toughen them up.

Heres how to toughen them up:-

1 Once they have become sore you need to rest them. The chances are, because its all new to you and you have been enjoying what you were playing, you have pushed your fingers so hard that small but painful blisters have formed. Do not attempt to burst them. Unless of coarse you enjoy lots of unnecessary pain! Instead, rub some surgical spirit on them as this can help the toughening up process.

2 Once your fingers start to settle down and toughen up you need to practice on a regular basis. If you are just starting out 10 to 30 minutes practice a day, for 4 or 5 days a week. If you are an advanced player you should play for at the very least 15 minutes a day (and up to 3 to 4 hours) if you want to avoid getting sore fingers. Even advanced players when they introduce a new technique or bend the strings for a long period of time will experience sore fingers tips.

After a while hardened skin will form on the tips of your fingers that are known as "calluses.

They key to avoid getting sore finger ends is to practice regularly and not take too long breaks between your practice sessions.

Warning: if you ignore these important beginner guitar playing tips your fingers will remain sore and the process of learning to play acoustic guitar will not be enjoyable.
