By:

Summer is the time when you can enjoy the beaches together with your family. Your kids will surely love and enjoy frolicking on the beaches under the sun. However, as parents you have the responsibility to ensure that your kids get adequate skin protection as exposure to the sun can damage their skin.

Here are some helpful tips on skin protection you may want to follow:

As much as possible, refrain from being exposed to the sun anytime between 10 am to 4 pm when the ultraviolet rays of the sun are at its peak. These harmful rays can cause skin damage to you and your kids.

Wear protective clothing such as sun suits and sun hats. Kids swimwear are also designed and especially made these days to protect them from the harmful rays of the sun knowing how these kids would love to enjoy playing not minding the heat and the damage the sun can have on their skin.

On top of your protective suits, it also helps to complement them with sun hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen you can wear on your skin. These things will boost your protection against the damaging heat of the sun while allowing you and your kids to become fashionable as you wish on the beaches.

When choosing your protective sun suits, pay particular attention to the ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) rating that you can see on the tags. A UPF rating of 50+ is the best skin protection you and your kids can get from the suits. Sunscreen lotions should likewise have an SPF rating of 15 or higher for sufficient coverage and protection against sun damage.

It also helps to carefully choose the color of your swimwear. Lighter colors do not absorb as much heat as that of darker colors. While you may want to look thinner in darker colors, going lighter will be more beneficial to your skin. Kids' swimwear should be in light colors.

Do not forget to wear sunscreen protection on your lips as well as that of your children's. Though lips never change its color from the heat of the sun, they can easily dry up and burn.

You should observe these skin protection tips to prevent any damage from the exposure to the sun. You see, the ultraviolet rays of the sun can cause more than just sunburns. When constantly exposed minus the necessary protection, the damages can be extensive as developing melanoma or skin cancer.

The good thing is that you need not deprive yourself and your children of the fun and enjoyment you can get from the beaches playing under the sun. You just need to get sufficient protection and cover from the heat such as those provided by especially made swim wears or sun suits along with sun glasses, sun hats, sun screen lotions.

All these things should form part of your skin protection. Follow these tips and have fun on the beaches with your kids and family.
