Before Falling In Love

Before Falling In Love

By:

Falling in love is a tricky business, but we dont let this discourage us. The ancient Greeks had an interesting take on falling in love; they compared it to going insane. Most of us who have fallen in love know the Greeks had a point. As we are drawn into relationship with the opposite sex, it seems that the attraction is controlled by some unknown and mysterious power that overrides our reason and produces unexplainable but undeniable emotions. And we like those feelings. Theyre intoxicating and irresistible. When you fall in love, youll lose yourself, youll have no power over yourself, and you cant even think straight. Falling in love produces some of the most powerful emotions we can experience, meanwhile simultaneously warping our ability to think clearly. Nietzsche the German philosopher went so far to say, love is the state in which man sees things most widely different from what they really are.

What you cant afford not to know

In this aspect, I will like to mention two [2] things you cant afford not to know before falling in love.

The first thing is to define what love is. Ask yourself Im I really in love? as long as love remains mystery somewhere out there that you only know by supercharged emotional surges. Youll be in the ocean of uncertainty until you are able to see clearly on what love truly means. Youll never know if what you are experiencing is real or just a fleeting feeling.

The second one is the difference between love and romantic interest [infatuation]. As you and I know that feeling is like a fire that keeps burning which you dont know where its burning from, when it starts burning, there is no specific indication to know maybe what is about to happen is going to last for years, decades, or ever.

Why these moments happen and the exact things that triggers them who knows? But these feelings are temporary. If we dont know the difference between love and infatuation, we are destined to make the most dangerous and regrettable decisions we cant afford to make. These decisions come with painful and heavy repercussion. As you can see that in this tricky business of love, it is necessary that we clearly define what love is.
