Beef Croquettes At Cafe Amor | Goa

By:

What you see Caf Amor sits pretty in a section of a Portuguese styled house in Panjim, Goa. It is located just by the footpath, after Caf Coffee Day and before the State Bank of India.

Theres a big room inside with few items placed randomly in different shelves for sale. This includes Goa travel guides and books along with a limited selection of baby clothes and accessories. An entire shelf is also dedicated to items related to Christianity including religious crib figures and robes.

The entrance to the caf is from the left side of this room. A big counter showcases all the eatables available. Behind this, is a long table pretty much like the kitchen counter in your home with all the essential appliances neatly placed. Seating arrangements for 10-15 people are provided on the left. Theres a very homely touch around.

The huge mosaic bench is an interesting piece of decor here along with the quaint lanterns. Bits of Mario Mirandas artwork can also be seen on the walls.

What you get Caf Amor is a treat for all Goan food and meat lovers. Only snacks are provided here so do not expect any heavy meals. You can try Samosas, Sandwiches, Rolls, Croquettes and other similar savories. Most of these come with non-vegetarian fillings. Light beverages are available too, such as tea, coffee and lime juice.

Among our favorites are the Beef samosas, Sausage bun (bun with pork sausage stuffing), Prawn rissois (snack with prawn filling), Beef roast grilled sandwich and the utterly scrumptious Beef croquettes (minced beef snack). The croquettes are served light and crunchy with a juicy minced meat filling within. All you need to do is dip it in some tomato sauce and you have definitely done your bit in treating your tummy.

All snacks are priced very reasonably starting from as low as Rs.7 to Rs. 50.

Our verdict Caf Amor is like a cozy corner of your home. It is simple yet delightful. A great stopover for some evening snacks. Nothing much for vegetarians though. Service is average. Parking space is available.

What you pay for a meal for two Rs. 80 - Rs. 100 and Anytime between 9 AM 8 PM
