Becoming A Teacher Isnt Easy

It is hard to find a more professional job out there than a teacher. Being a teacher is incredibly rewarding and there are so many benefits involved with the job that choosing it as a career is an excellent idea.

Teaching is fundamental in children"s lives, and a teacher really can mean a lot to the pupils as they look up to them as a role model. School teachers play an imperative role in educating children on moral and ethical standards as this isn"t always learnt at home.

Important life skills are taught by teachers as well and it is always vital that teachers are creating trusting relationships with their pupils. Whenever a pupil doesn"t admire their teacher that"s usually when that child starts to become ill-disciplined and disruptive.

As people grow up through teaching, the relationships they have with their teachers change significantly. During high school and primary school the connection with authority in terms of the educator is telling the pupil what to do. However, when you reach college and university you have more of a comradeship with your teacher, like you would have with a manager or senior colleague at work.

Becoming a teacher allows you to spend the majority of your day working with children or young people, and if this is something that you enjoy doing then teaching is definitely for you. With young children around, you can be a part of their exciting world, with their vivid imaginations and innocence, seeing your pupils develop can really be gratifying, especially knowing that whatever they have learnt it has come from you.

Other perks of being a teacher is that you never work on weekends and you will receive long holidays, especially over summertime and Christmas. As a teacher you are always continuing your training and you frequently get sent to free training days that can really improve your understanding as a teacher, setting you up to maybe move on to a deputy head position or even head teacher one day.

Additionally, being a teacher allows you to network with large groups of people and during the 60 minutes they are in your lesson, they are your responsibility. Once you start gaining the self-confidence of talking to large groups of people you will then find it much easier to talk to large groups of people. As a teacher you also get a lot of independence in terms of what your lessons can be about. You get a curriculum and as long as you stick to it you can teach your pupils in any way you see fit.
