Become A Lover Of Learning

One of my really closest friends and mentors for a very long time, Byron Nelson, taught me something years ago when I was still a college student. What he said was If you walk into a broke persons house the first thing that youre going to see is a big TV. If you walk into a wealthy persons house the first thing youre going to see is a big library.

What I would pass on to you today along those same lines of thinking in that concept is that if you really want to be as successful as you have dreamed about being and living that life of your own design, you need to really become a lover of learning and constant and never ending improvement or can I, as some people would call it.

One of the secrets to success is that success in itself is really no secret. It really boils down to the people who are really willing to be the most tenacious and not quit and word the hardest and most importantly the ones that are willing to go out and seek the right information.

I always noticed that its the most successful people that are the most open to learning new things, and as Ive said before its those people that are at a very mediocre level of success that always feel like no one can teach them anything. How funny is that?

I remember being at a seminar within maybe the past year or so. I was going to learn some business skills and there was a guy in the audience who, at that time, was already making like a quarter million dollars in a day from events that he was doing, that he does throughout the year.

When he was asked Why would someone thats making that kind of money come to learn what people that are still are trying to get to your level are trying to learn at this particular education seminar?

His response was I come to these education events because if I learn one key thing I could easily add an extra one, two, three hundred thousand dollars to my income in a year just from one really good tip that I learn that can improve what I know.

The successful people understand that when youre constantly learning, when youre constantly improving yourself, you get to apply those new concepts across the board in your life because wealth goes far beyond just money.

Whether its being better in your relationships at home, being healthier and then, of course, definitely building businesses and being a better leader, which also ties into being able to be a successful business owner.

So I would say if youre looking around you right now, being very honest with yourself, if your television is larger than your bookshelf you might want to call Houston because you have a problem. Be a never ending lover of learning and constant improvement.

That is one of the huge keys of being able to achieve the level of success that youve always dreamed about.
