Beat The Grip Of A Social Phobia Using Self-hypnosis

By:

One of the most common anxiety disorders is social phobia, a disorder in which an individual is scared of being in a social setting. A person with social phobia experiences unbearable anxiety that impacts all aspects of their life.

People with social phobia are extremely self-conscious and worried about what others may say or think about them. They are typically afraid of voicing their opinions, out of fear that they will be judged or berated. People with social anxiety tend to look down on themselves or have low self-esteem. They are worried about being noticed by others and find socializing to be very stressful.

A person with social anxiety may seem "shy," but in the case of a phobia, this is taken to extremes. For example, if you suffer from social phobia, you may hesitate to make an important call because you're nervous about talking on the telephone. You dial the number, but you're so anxious that you "freeze up" or forget why you called. Although it happens to everyone sometimes, for a person with social phobia it may happen every time, to the point where they find it impossible to make any phone calls.

Perhaps it is the night before a big meeting at work and you find yourself in a panic. You hate the thought of being in front of a room with your boss and all your co-workers watching as you present a project or an idea. You can't stop yourself from feeling extremely self-conscious and embarrassed. Even after the meeting ends, you keep overanalyzing everything you did and said. You are afraid that you embarrassed yourself in front of your colleagues by stuttering or saying something wrong.

Perhaps you would like to go to parties and make friends, but you avoid socializing because you're nervous about meeting someone new. You find crowded parties intimidating and the thought of meeting new people scares you. You worry about saying the right thing, or that people won't like you. You might stay at home a lot because you're too worried to go out. These are only some examples of the way social phobias can influence us.

Social phobias are irrational fears that can prevent you from achieving your professional goals or fully enjoying life. But even people who know their fears are irrational may not be able to rid themselves of their phobia. People with social phobia would like to be more social and meet new people, but are just too scared to try. Despite their conscious desires and efforts, they cannot control their phobia because all phobias are seated in the unconscious mind. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques are the most effective phobia treatments because they resolve issues at the unconscious level.

It is often hard for those afflicted with social anxiety to get help because they are too afraid to see a counselor or talk about their fear. This is another reason why hypnosis programs are perfect for them. The programs foster a calm and confidence-boosting frame of mind in a privacy, without being overwhelming or intimidating.

The first part of a good phobia program is stress relief. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for relieving your tension and anxiety. At the moment when you are de-stressed, hypnotic techniques will promote positive ideas in your unconscious mind and end your social phobia. NLP techniques will relieve your fears by directly targeting the thought process that is responsible for a phobia.

In conventional hypnotherapy, distinctively worded post-hypnotic suggestions are used to treat one different phobia. The problem is, people have a tendency to reject being simply told what to do or think, so conventional hypnotherapy is not always effective. A phobia calls for a combination of NLP and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.

Ericksonian hypnosis techniques are more effective than conventional hypnotherapy because they use suggestions that are not obvious to the conscious mind, versus direct suggestions. These ideas are hidden in conversation, in the form of stories and metaphors, to convince the unconscious mind to follow a different line of reasoning. This is why Ericksonian hypnosis is much more effective than traditional hypnotic therapy and much more difficult for the unconscious mind to resist.

A program that has Ericksonian hypnosis therapy and NLP techniques can treat any phobia, in any person. This is because various techniques are combined to maximize their success rate. People are often in awe of the apparently miraculous results they can get using hypnotherapy. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP are excellent tools to help boost your confidence and beat social anxiety so you may fully enjoy life.
