Be Smart, Get Std Testing

By:

In today's world it's pretty scary unless you know for sure your partner is monogamous, and even then, you both should try and get tested regularly for STD's. STD testing isn't difficult but it can save your life and also, your partners.

It really doesn't matter whether your heterosexual or not, std's are rampant in every quarter and affect every age group. This means unless you have practiced abstinence all your life that you are at risk for an std. In fact, some of them don't show up for years after contracting them.

This means that even if you have been tested in the past that you should be tested with your regular health check up. Unfortunately those in the highest risk group usually don't have health insurance and therefore, don't get tested. But in today's world there are many places you can go if you can't afford to be tested.

Look to your community health organizations, look to your church, and look to your local schools. Many colleges offer free health checkups or free testing at least once a year.

Another way to get tested is to give blood at many of the blood drives going on in your area at any time. When you give blood your blood is tested for some std's. They will notify you if your blood is infected and of course, it doesn't cost anything and in some cases you're paid for your donation.

Std's are real and do not know income, ethnic, or sexual preference boundaries. Make sure you're tested on a regular basis even if you think your partner is monogamous. Not only is your fertility at risk but possible your life and the life of your partner. Remember, some of these diseases don't show up for years after you have contracted them.
