Before starting the bathing process you need to make sure that you have gathered all the materials and dont have to leave the baby unattended in the middle. Some of the items which you should have are Baby bathtub, bath towels, wash clothes or sponge, baby soap and shampoo. Also, lay out babys clean clothes and diaper for after the bath.

Temperature of the water should be 37 degrees celsius to prevent chilling or burning. Use your wrist to test the water.
Keep the bathing area warm.
Never leave your baby unattended during the process. If you are interrupted, take your baby with you.
Room should be free of drafts, such as open windows or fans.
Wash your baby with mild baby soap. If the baby skin is dry add a little bath emollient to the water. However, emollient can make your baby slippery.
On a changing table, use the safety strap always.
If the baby seems frightened of bathing and cries, try bathing together. Baby love skin-to-skin contact and can help them relax and nurse more effectively.
Safety is the most important consideration, gather your supplies ahead so that you can keep one hand on the baby all the times.
