Wheelchairs are very handy. They help disabled get around, and there are many options to fit everyone's personal tastes. Similar to the many styles of wheelchairs out there to fit everyone's personal likes and dislikes, handicapped bathtubs are made differently as well so people can have options for what they like and don't like with their bathtubs.

Handicapped bathtubs are made differently. There are many styles out there that have different features. Each of them offers support in different areas so they are able to assist handicapped people.

Finding the right bathtub can be a chore. But it will be well worth the research to find one that fits your style and likes. Having a handicapped tub can lessen the risk of getting hurt while bathing.

For people who do not have severe disabilities the standard tub can be modified. Usually this means creating a door to allow you to get in and out of the tub with out having to climb over the rail. The door is fitted with special fixtures so water won't leak out the door when you bathe.

A deep walk in tub is another type of tub that lends more support for handicapped individuals. Deep walk in tubs have grab bars and handles that give you more support to hold on to during the bath. You can also have this modified to work with showers if you prefer showering to bathing.

Slide in tubs are another handicapped tub style. This is a good option for people who use wheelchairs. There is a seat in the tub that allows the disabled person to slide from the wheelchair to the tub. The door opens outward to allow complete access to the wheelchair.

There are other advanced types of handicapped baths as well. Some have power seats that will actually lower your body to the floor of the tub. That way you can set yourself in to a reclined position just like you would with a regular tub so the water can reach you up to your mid-chest.

The main point for having a handicapped bath is to allow disabled people more comfort and mobility while they are bathing. There are a lot of benefits for having a handicapped bath. There are a lot of options available for you to choose from, and different styles and colors too.
