Bath Tub Faucets: Making Your Bath Tub Unique

Bath tub faucets are the faucets that are used to control the water flow and temperature of the water that is used in the bath tub. Some of these bath tub faucets also include faucets for the shower because only a few homes and hotels have freestanding bathtubs. It is fairly common for the master bedroom in a nice house to have a freestanding tub and a shower. However, if you are looking for bath tub faucets for a shower tub combination, then you will have no trouble finding a matching set.

Most bath tub faucets are made out of metal, though some will have a plastic knob or knobs. The majority of them are silver or gold colored, and there is slightly less variety among the metal finishes of bath tub faucets as compared to sink faucets. Some of the most common finishes include chrome and polished nickel, which can be silver or gold colored. Other darker metals include oil-rubbed bronze. Metals like antiqued copper tend to be more expensive and more difficult to find when you are looking for bath tub faucets.

One of the most common types of bath tub faucets is a single handle or knob that controls the water flow and water temperature. They are generally attached to a circular mounting panel that often shows the hot and cold side. They also include a separate spout for the water. Some of the spouts include a button that closes the drain or starts the shower. Sometimes the drain stopper is a separate piece.

Another common type is the version that has two or three knobs. The separate knobs on these bath tub faucets control hot and cold water respectively. The middle knob, if there is one, will turn on the showerhead. The knobs are generally made out of clear plastic while the handles are generally metal.

Roman tubs, which are generally separate from the shower, have their own types of bath tub faucets. These bath tub faucets generally look more like sink faucets, and they often have two handles to control the hot and cold water. Sometimes they have just one handle, and some of them have sprayers as well. Some have wall mounted versions, which are mounted on the tub wall, where the spout and handles are all connected. Bath tub faucets for these kinds of tubs generally have high, long spouts so that you can put your head under the water.
