So, always be sure there is some kind of lasting item in the basket. As for the rest, you will need to pick and choose what will please the other person and what will not. By selecting the items yourself, you are the one who will set the tone of the basket. That is part of the beauty of making your own basket, is the ability to personalize it to the one you are giving it to in the way you wish.
For those that just cannot make a basket from scratch, but still desire something more personal, they might find a business that sells bath gift baskets. Also, you can purchase a basket that has most of what you wish, unwrap it and add or take away the things you like or dislike, adding your personal touches, then rewrap it and give it to you friend.
