Basketball Equipment Review: Goalrilla Backboard Universal Pad

The Goalrilla backboard universal pad is a great necessity for a Goalrilla backboard. Backboard pads protect players from injuring themselves from the glass edges of a backboard. This backboard pad was designed to provide a way to reduce the impact of basketball players against the edges, sides and back of the Goalrilla backboard.

It also covers up the supporting hardware that holds up the backboard and the hoop such as the wide span arms. The most dangerous part of any backboard is its sides because of the glass edges being very sharp, which is why backboard are so necessary to cover up those sharp edges. This backboard pad has been proven to reduce serious injuries in players and it cost relatively little to install onto the backboard.

This backboard pad is essentially a poly based material that wraps around the major areas of the backboard that are exposed and could cause injury. This Goalrilla backboard pad is easy to install. Just as easy as slipping on a shoe because all you have to do is slip it over the backboard and snap on or around the hardware in the back of the backboard. The backboard pads fits all Goalrilla basketball hoop backboards such as the Goalrilla GS 54, the Goalrilla GS 60 and the Goalrilla GS 72 basketball backboards.

Its weather proof because it comes coated in a protective powder that makes it resistant to natural elements that would otherwise break it down over time, and it gives the backboard an over NBA style feel. Ive had my share of accidents with my basketball backboard. There have been many times when I scared my arms doing a lay up and there have been many times when I have seen other basketball players seriously hurt themselves on a basketball backboard while trying to do a dunk or lay up. This Goalrilla backboard pad has met the FIBA, NBA, NVAA and NFHS specifications and qualifications for basketball padding, and the manufacturer provides player with a one year warranty if at any case they feel they need something else. All in all, this is a good backboard pad for basketball players to put onto their backboard.
