Many people want to exercise regularly, but have difficulty making time to exercise. This is often true when they have an active lifestyle that does not allow any more activities to be added to the schedule. Pull up bars remove the need to have a planned activity schedule. Once the bar is installed, it is easy to perform some repetitions of pull-ups and complimentary exercises when passing the doorway where the bar is installed.

The bars can be placed in almost any doorway in your home. Making sure that there is enough space around the doorway to allow you to do more complex exercises with the bar will also be advantageous. Once you get use to exercising using the bar you will be able to include exercises that strengthen your legs and sculpt your buttocks using the bar and the exercises provided.

The permanent bars are normally made of a heavy metal that is held in the doorway with brackets. These brackets fit in the middle of the doorway and hold up to 300 pounds easily. The mobile bars are sometimes made of other materials that make them like enough to carry easily in your luggage.

If you travel a lot you will find that the mobile pull up bars make the perfect compliment to your exercise routine. These bars do not mar or scratch the doorway and can be used in hotels, motels, or buildings where the size of the doorway is the correct size. Unlike permanent bars, the mobile ones are more lightweight and can be easily packed in a suitcase.

Doorway pulls strengthen the biceps, back, and chest. There are many different exercises that you can do using the bar that will also work on your core and abs. Some of the bars have foam padded hand grips that allow the user to do pull ups without the bar becoming slippery. Other bars of a foam padding across the entire bar that absorb moisture and keep your hands in place when you are exercising.

The installation of the bars will require that you have a doorway with walls that are four inches wide. In addition, the trim overhead should also be four inches wide. This will allow the bar to be centered in the doorway and support the weight of the person using the bar for exercise. Mobile bars also need at least four inches of clearance to be most effective. If you select the mobile bar it will be important to read the manufacturers recommendations regarding the type of doorway that the bar should be placed in.

When you are comparing the bars you will want to check the warranty on the bar and make sure of the amount of weight it can support. There are several bars that are made with a specific body weight and type in mind. Some of the bars are made of a lighter weight material than the standard bars.

When you have installed your pull up bars it will be time to start exercising using your bar each day. Taking a few minutes each day to do a quick repetition of pull-ups will result in strengthening your muscles and upper body. In addition, you will notice that your abs become stronger as you exercise. Many people notice that they begin to lose weight and are able to begin a regular exercise program that includes their other muscle groups after they get used to using their pull up bar.
