Basic Discus Fish Care Tips

When it comes to keeping discus fish, it can often times be a difficult thing to do. Especially when you are not sure what to do to take really good care of them. And what's even more frustrating is how easy it is for discus to stress and die. So, what I'll do is reveal to you a few basic discus fish care tips.

That way, keeping discus will be easy for you and you won't have to worry about your fish stressing or dying. And it's okay to not know what to do, the main thing is that you focus on your fish needs. And the one need that's important is food. A lot of discus prefer to eat bloodworms. This may not be the case for your fish. You will have to feed your discus different types of foods to see which one they prefer.

Now, one thing you definitely should keep an eye on is the aquarium's pH level. If it gets too high or low, your fish will start stressing and will eventually die. You should check the pH often to make sure everything is okay.

So, make sure you keep a close eye on the pH level of the aquarium's water. You should also keep the fish tank away from any doors that are revolving or that are being opened and closed constantly throughout the day. This will also spook your fish and make them stress. So, be sure you keep their tank away from the doors.

The other discus fish care tip that will help you keep your discus happy is to keep them with other fish. Discus love being with other fish. They're shoaling fish. And so they must be with other fish or they'll get lonely. So, be sure you keep them with other fish. I would say you should have about five discus in one tank. You can have more, but at least have a few of them in your tank. Just having one is not a good idea.
