Barbados Food, Wine And Rum Festival To Take Place In November

The second annual Barbados Food, Wine and Rum Festival will be taking place next month as visitors from all around the world arrive on the Caribbean island to sample traditional cuisine and beverages.

The four-day festival is being organised in partnership with Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine and Departures and Executive Travel; and there will be plenty of entertainment, activities, and demonstrations for tourists to enjoy during Barbados holidays at this time.

The event will take place from 18th -21st November and will be hosted by the Features Director of Travel + Leisure, Nilou Motamed. It will showcase the talent and expertise of culinary masters Tom Colicchio, Marcus Samuelsson, Ming Tsai and Tim Love. Travellers taking Barbados holidays will be able to take part in interactive sessions, tasting session and chef demonstrations with London-based chef Fergus Henderson and Canadian chef, Rob Feenie.

Wine expert Anthony Giglio will be presenting wine seminars and events and visitors taking holidays to Barbados will be able to taste the flavours of local wines and traditional Caribbean dishes that have been prepared by local Bajan chefs John Hazzard, Peter Edey and Henderson Butcher.

The beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados is famous for its delicious rum and with over 1,500 rum shops on the 166 square-mile island, tourists will have several shops to choose from to sample the local tipple. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival to taste the different varieties of rum punch in venues across the island.

Participating venues include Barbados hotels, resorts, restaurants and attractions such as Sandy Lane, the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, Lion Castle Polo Estate, Fisherpond Great House, The Cliff, Waterside, The Beach House, Azul Restaurant, St. Nicholas Abbey, Concorde Experience and The Jolly Roger.

Barbados is situated in the Caribbean Sea approximately 250 miles northeast of Trinidad and Tobago. The island boasts pristine white sand beaches fringed with turquoise warm ocean waters that are thriving with colourful coral reefs and provide perfect conditions for scuba diving and snorkelling activities.

During holidays in Barbados, tourists can explore the UNESCO World heritage site and the islands capital Bridgetown, Harrisons Cave in St Thomas, the Flower Forest Botanical Gardens and many historical properties and sites.
