Baptized In The Holy Ghost

By:

Even if somebody said that to us, we'd say: Well, I don't really want to give up. Then finally God told me: You can be pitiful or powerful but you can't be both, so take your pick. I'm pleading with you tonight: If you have a problem with self-pity, just give it up because all it's doing is keeping you in the pit. It is the biggest waste of time. What did you do today? Oh, sat around and felt sorry for myself. Well, did it help you? No, it made me feel worse.

It's always better if you're going to feel sorry for yourself to work. You wouldn't want to have any fun if you're going to feel sorry for yourself. I'd work myself into a real fit. By the end of the day I had a headache and a stomachache and a neck ache.

Everybody else had enjoyed the day and I'm sitting on the bathroom floor crying. And here I was, born again, baptized in the Holy Ghost, teaching a bible study on Tuesday nights. Is that really the way those of us who have God in our life are supposed to be behaving? Sometimes we just have to take a good look at it and say: What am I doing?! What am I doing? I don't want to be one of those people like the Israelites who spent 40 years trying to make an 11-day trip. I want to get through this and get it over with. Amen? I don't want to just keep going around the same mountain over and over and over and over. We have to ask ourselves: Is what I'm doing working? Is it working? I tried for a long time to change Dave.

One day I went into the room where he was. He was listening to a football game, watching a baseball game and shining his golf clubs. I thought: You know what? This is not working. At least be wise enough to check and see if what you're doing is producing any fruit. Is nagging your family all the time helping? No!: Is telling your kids "you will not act like that and live in my house!"? Is that changing anything? No!: No, Joyce Meyer Ministries said that if you have a teenager, they just roll their eyes back in their head and look like they're going to faint and then you wonder why you're not friends.
