Balloons In All Shapes And Sizes

By:

A few months ago I was in charge of the Cub Scout 100th Birthday Celebration in our area. This was a very big deal and we had to make sure that there was no corner missed for decorations. There were hundreds of hours put into planning this event and I felt like we were ready to go up there and start decorating the morning of the event. Since it was a birthday celebration there were going to be balloons all over the room. We had balloons for part of the activity. Balloons were going to be a big part of the center pieces. Then there were helium balloons on the food table and all over the room. Besides all of these balloons we had balloons on a 12' cake that we made to have someone jump out of.

We got everything loaded into the room that we were going to decorate. We got the tables and chairs set up. Then went the tablecloths and getting everything laid out where it belonged. Things were going really well. We felt like we were not going to have to be there much longer so we could all get onto the next things that we needed to have ready for that night. Then we pulled out the balloons and we had to blow up the balloons.

For some reason I cannot blow up balloons. I have never been able to figure it out, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to help blowing up the balloons. I asked everyone who was there and none of them could blow up a balloon. Luckily I had thought about that and purchased a hand pump to blow up the balloons. I was glad that I had thought that through or we would have been stuck with no balloons blown up. The unfortunate thing was that it did take a lot longer to get all of the balloons blown up for all of the decorations since we only had the one pump.

The whole event worked out amazingly well and everyone had a great time. It was so fun to see how all of the different balloons played different roles in making the evening fun. From everyone blowing up a balloon and have it fly through the air to center pieces to gifts and the list goes on. The best part was that we were smart and recognized all of the balloons that we needed and went through a balloon distributor to purchase all that we needed and saved money.
