Ballet Uniform For Rad Examinations

The Pre Primary and Primary dance wear for girls currently is pink, lilac and marine blue. Candidates of the RAD may wear a sleeveless leotard or short sleeve leotard in pink, lilac or blue. A matching wrap-over skirt may also be worn. This is normally made of Voile, Chiffon or Georgette fabric. Ballet shoes of pink satin and pink ankle socks are worn. For the cold winter months it is acceptable to wear a matching ballet cardigan pink, lilac, or blue wrap only before or after the examination.

The Girls grade one to eight may choose from colors of pink, lilac, red, navy, mulberry, or marine blue. Candidates may wear a sleeveless leotard or short sleeve leotard with a neat belt. Candidates may wear 60 denier ballet tights with seam or seamless and pink satin ballet shoes. Girls' beginning grade 6 are required to wear a practice skirt, color choices are lavender, navy, black or burgundy. Girls above grade eight, intermediate and advanced may select a navy or black camisole style leotard and 60 denier ballet tights. Ballet shoes of pink satin are worn.

RAD offers boys a choice of a white or blue sleeveless leotard with black or navy shorts. Black leather ballet shoes and black tights or white socks may be worn. Boys of age and men may wear a white leotard and navy blue stirrup tights. The Royal Academy of Dance examinations board presents teachers and students with the opportunity to be recognized by the world's largest and most influential ballet examinations board.
