Backing Up Data Not A Task But State Of Mind

JUST IMAGINE What will happen when files that has been collected over the years , stored in a hard drive that no longer works? Of course nobody wants that. Yes, there is a very easy way to ensure that precious data remain securely hidden and available when needed and that is: Backup files.

A very simple question arises in our mind that “how can I make copies of all these data? Its too much … and we don't want to spend hours on something that may never need.”

It’s really easy, and will spend very little time.

Practically speaking there are only two types of data in our system that you have and you do not copy. You do not need to back up anything you already have on CD, like all that have been purchased and installed, if you still have the CD, is a backup.

Frankly speaking , if you do not have the CD, the backup will make no good for many programs. So, you must have the CD to install it. Please put the CD in a safe place and here about 90% of backups is done.

Now we have left only with the data that are not on CD. There are of two types: The first one are the programs that are downloaded from the Web and the second is what you have scanned , written or received through an email.

Its easy to backup the first category by Zip drive or a CD recorder.

How to backup?

While using Zip drive, insert the cartridge into the bay -> double-click My Computer ->Drag the downloaded file to the Zip drive icon and let go. The program will be copied to the drive and reinstall it when needed.

If you have a CD burner as soon as you get some files rename them and copy them to a CD and then label the CD ‘Backups’ with the date. Many records are “one time” writing, so one its suggested to save them one by one in a zip disk and then when full, copied to a CD.

People keep asking me that How often should they back up their data. Sorry to say but there is no auspicious time for it.

I have a question that “Can you afford to lose the data? “

If not, then go for a back up.

If you have done a lot of work, back it up.

Then after every few months take a moment to think about what software you use and what would happen if they lost. Remember backing up is not a task, it is a state of mind.

If, in spite of taking all the precautions you lose your data , then you must go for some windows data recovery software to recover windows files.

The proper and timely backups increase the chances of windows data recovery. According to my studies I strongly support the software with read only features since they safe and secure to go with. And in such software Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software is on the top.
