Back Pain Causes

By:

Back pain can be a result of many possibilities and before you attempt any type of treatment you should first try to determine the cause of the pain. Pain is a signal that there is a problem and if too severe you may require medical treatment.

If you were in a car, boat or motorcycle accident of if you fall whether by tripping on an object or falling off a ladder or high surface, it is probably a good idea to see a doctor and have x-rays taken to make sure nothing is broken. Other symptoms occurring after an injury such as weakness, tingling, numbness, fever or chills, loss of bladder and bowels surely require medical attention.

Back pain causes may be a result of lifting a heavy object, making a sharp movement or for no apparent reason and if you believe it is not an emergency there are several things you can do to try and alleviate the pain.

There are back pain remedies you should try when you have determined that medical attention is not necessary. Since heat is great for loosening up the muscles, try applying heat to the affected area either by using a heating pad or trying a hot shower. Stretching your arms and neck is another technique to try. Sometimes all that is needed is a good massage or even acupuncture. You can also try resting on your back while placing your feet on a couch or chair. Roll a towel up and situated it so that it supports your neck.

Whatever method you choose, first determine the back pain cause and method of treatment and allow your back to rest until the pain completely vanishes, even if it takes more time than you expect. If the pain continues however, the best back pain remedy should be recommended by a doctor.
