Baby Boy's First Birthday Party Tips

By:

Your baby boy's first birthday is one of the few parties you can throw and not mess up. He's going to enjoy himself no matter how well you planned it, whether the cake is great or a flop, if only half the guests show up, and it rains all day. And if any of those things happen and it bothers you, just take another look at the birthday boy and you'll quickly get over it.

But having said all that, you do want it to go well. Your little guy is not worried about it, but all the adults are counting on you. So hopefully these few party tips will help pacify the adults. Like most tips they are somewhat common sense, but it sometimes helps to have them written down as a reminder.

There are basically six ingredients to making your baby boy's first birthday party a big hit.

1) Invitations- Birthday boy could care less, but the adults love them. With a good picture of your handsome little man loaded on your computer, go online to a web site with the following four key elements; unique photo card designs, great kids options, easy step-by-step ordering, and the latest technology. Follow the point-and-click steps, and you'll custom make a dazzling photo invitation that will fire up the adults, and your son can enjoy down the road.

2) Party clothes- The guest of honor could wear diapers for all he cares, but we adults need to take our pictures, so dress him up accordingly. He'll get a kick out of it a few years from now.

3) Cameras- Make sure at least two or three people are committed to take lots of pictures, and tell them to be sure to bring extra batteries just in case. You're going to be too busy, but you sure want some for your photo book. Besides candid shots, be sure to write down other shots you want so they don't get overlooked, such as one with the grandparents, etc.

4) Party theme and decorations- If you know of something that your son really favors, a TV show, maybe trucks or planes, whatever it may be, make use of it in your theme and decor. When you bring him into the party room for the first time it will light him up and get it off to a great start.

5) Party games- Google up party games for one year olds, and you'll find plenty to pick from. If he has a favorite, certainly include that as well. Consider other children who may be attending also, and plan enough to keep everyone entertained for at least a couple of hours.

6) Food and cake- Consider the guest list and serve something that leaves no one hungry. Be sure to have plenty of cake and ice cream to go around at least once, and enough for the birthday boy to eat and play with. They generally do both, so have the cameras ready.

Follow these few simple tips and your beautiful baby boy's first birthday party will definitely be a big hit with all the adults, and your son will enjoy it too. Unlike the adults, he's not hard to please, yet.
