In this part we will take a closer look at what most auto-responders offer and how you can utilize all the functions to your advantage.

An auto-responder is indispensable as a part of B2B marketing strategies and will allow you to:

1.Automatically insert potential customers into your database when they fill in the opt-in form. This form is supplied by the auto-responder company youll use and you can determine how much information you want from the customer. This will largely depend on the type of business you are in.

The form can be completely customized but keep in mind that the less
information you ask of a prospect, the more likely they are to fill in the form.

2.As soon as the prospect has filled in the form, they will receive a welcome e-mail from you which you programmed beforehand. If you decided to go with a double opt-in (which is strongly recommended), the prospect will then receive an e-mail containing a link they must click to confirm the opt-in. This protects you from being accused of spam.

After the initial e-mail, the series of message you created before, will then start delivering to the prospects inbox on the times you scheduled.


3.Keep record of all the communication. Each contact will have a record showing when and how many e-mails went out to them. With many auto-responders you can even determine how many e-mails were opened or deleted.

4.Have the ability to send out a blast e-mail. You may have heard of a great offer or have something important to share with your e-mail list, and need to contact them on top of the scheduled messages. This is called a blast e-mail.

5. Create various lists and organize leads. Auto-responders are very organized and can be extremely useful with administrative functions. It is like having several people in one doing the writing and mailing to keep in touch with your prospects.

You can keep several different lists, maintain records of leads and even organize data according to country or status with the click of a button.

It is therefore clear to see that having opt-in email lists marketing as part of your B2B sales leads generation strategy is something you cannot afford not to have.
